Tractor Trailor v. Motorcycle – $650,000 Settlement

$650,000 settlement Mr. Neal and co-counsel settled a case against a tractor trailer company for $650,000. The driver had a bad driving record and was driving with 50% defective brakes and failed to yield the right of way to a husband and wife who were joy riding on their motorcycle on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Miraculously they survived the wreck but not without suffering permanent injuries. The wife suffered a comminuted fracture to her tibia/fibula requiring an IM rod. She also suffered a fractured collar bone, fractured pelvis, and fractured cheek bone. The husband suffered a broken foot and broken bones in his hand. Both clients were able to return to work but will live with their injuries for the rest of their life. Mr. Neal filed suit on this case immediately upon the insurance company’s refusal to accept full responsibility for its insured tractor trailer’s negligence. Within 90 days of taking this case on, Mr. Neal succeeding in getting the tractor trailer company and its insurance company to settle the case at mediation for $650,000.
